Phoenix Primary School
Inclusions Manager (SENCO)
from September 2021
We are seeking to find a dynamic, charismatic, forward thinking candidate, who has the energy and determination to join our team to oversee SEND and Inclusion. This post is a vital appointment in terms of fulfilling our vision and ambition for our inclusive school to secure and enhance positive life chances for our most vulnerable students. We would expect a demonstrable passion for supporting our SEND students and those with barriers to learning.
At Phoenix we have a strong belief that successful provision for students with SEND benefits all students; provision must be built in, not bolted on. This role will involve the promotion of quality-first teaching as a means of promoting inclusion, therefore the successful candidate will be able to model outstanding teaching in the classroom to develop the practice of all staff. You will be responsible for the oversight of the SEND Department. You will make effective use of data to ensure the success of SEND students, monitoring and leading strategically on the SEND provision, ensuring there are policies, procedures, systems, structures, resources and personnel in place to promote the progress and outcomes of SEND students at Phoenix.
Applicants will have a proven track record of outstanding teaching, hold the national SEN qualification (or be willing to complete it) and be able to evidence successful strategies used for strategic leadership of SEND/Inclusions, responsibility for SEND policy and leadership of staff.
The school became a Primary school in September 2020 and we are looking for a unique person who will be capable of working within a new team from Year R, to build up the provision throughout KS1 and 2. This is an exciting time at Phoenix with new environments both inside and out being developed ready for the opening of the new elements of the school.
