Post held: SENDCO

St Peter’s is looking for a skilled, dedicated, highly motivated and well organised SENDCO with no class responsibilities to continue to support pupils to achieve their full potential and thus continue to drive education standards in an upward trajectory. We would be looking for someone to take on leadership of a Foundation Subject as well. This role will form part of the Senior Leadership Group structure in school alongside the Deputy and Headteacher and will be from Easter 2022. If you are passionate about SEND and have the energy, drive and desire to motivate our children and ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes, this could be the right job for you.

This is a great opportunity to further your career within a friendly and supportive staff team and would suit a teacher who enjoys working in a caring, busy, small school environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • holds the National SENDCO award qualification;
  • demonstrates excellent leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills;
  • demonstrates excellent classroom practice, effectively meeting individual needs;
  • has experience of teaching across the Infant age range;
  • has the desire and experience to take a lead role within our school;
  • has a clear understanding of SEND and experience of working with children with a range of needs;
  • has a positive approach to behaviour;
  • has a commitment to ensuring all pupils achieve their full potential;
  • has high expectations of themselves and others.

Do you:

  • have a positive ‘can do’ attitude?
  • have a passion for raising the achievement of all children including social, emotional, physical and communication?
  • work well as part of a small team and share ideas and good practice?

Are you:

  • able to motivate and inspire children of all abilities?
  • committed to continuous improvement?
  • caring with a good sense of humour?

In return we can offer you:

  • a welcoming, friendly and supportive school team, governing body and parents in a unique small school environment;
  • enthusiastic, motivated children who are eager to learn;
  • hardworking, motivated, supportive colleagues and leadership teams;
  • commitment to on-going professional development.

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office on 01634 843590 or via email office@stpeters.medway.sch.uk to arrange a visit with Mrs Denise Curzon (Headteacher).
