Caretaker

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, self-motivated caretaker who will work to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors.

The post is part-time for 25 hours per week (split shift) 7:00 to 9:00am and 3:00 to 6:pm Monday to Friday plus overtime if required.

We are proud of our lovely site, and as a caretaker you will ensure our school is maintained to the highest standard both indoors and out.

The role will involve undertaking general repairs (within capability, general cleaning and maintenance, including decorating, basic plumbing, drain clearance etc.)

You would need to be physically fit, be able to work at heights and have a general understanding of health and safety (training will be provided if required).

Duties will include:

  • Taking pride in maintaining our school to a very high and professional standard
  • Liaising with hirers of school facilities
  • Locking and unlocking the premises on a daily basis and as required following any premise hire (this will require some lone working)
  • Ensuring a safe working and learning environment and providing safe access to the school site in cold weather conditions
  • Maintenance duties including general handyperson repairs to furniture and fabric, reporting when more major repairs are required, directing contractors, ensuring the site is secure and security alarm and fire alarm are fully operational.
  • Some cleaning responsibilities and ordering of cleaning/hygiene materials
